LOS CUERNOS DE TEJAS
SCHOLARSHIP FUND, INC.

Who We Are and Why

The Los Cuernos De Tejas Big Game Contest was organized in Carrizo Springs in 1996 to promote our area's most magnificent asset; our thriving wildlife.  The contest began with individuals who wanted to pursue the legacy between the sportsman, the landowner, the merchants and the state government.

Peggy Schulze Van Cleve is the owner of Circle V Ranch Center in Carrizo Springs, Texas.  She is a wildlife enthusiast but she was also a schoolteacher for twenty-two years.  Being a firm believer in education, Peggy and her children, Quentin, Holly and Cole, added the Scholarship Fund to assist others in their pursuit of higher education.

The Los Cuernos De Tejas Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation (separate from the Game Contest) and the Federal Tax ID Number is 3-20043-7547-6.  Your charitable donation is tax deductible.

How We Are Funded

The major portion of funding for the Scholarship Fund comes from the Live Auction that is held each year during the Los Cuernos De Tejas Big Game Contest Awards Ceremony.  The Wildlife Heritage Foundation of Texas/Carter's Country Outdoor Stores also aid in the funding.

Contest entry fees are used for the expense of the prizes and the awards ceremony each year and are not used for the scholarship.
